Green Heart is East Africa's leading regenerative eco-town — a walkable community built in harmony with nature. We're looking for a Head of Finance who is equally at home setting financial strategy and rolling up their sleeves to get things done.
We like to do things a little differently — so this application is the first step of the role. Rigour and integrity are the heart of the job; please read each question carefully and answer with real figures where you can.
Where this role fits
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the C-suite, you will own the day-to-day financial health of the organisation and help build the financial systems and discipline needed to scale. This is a hands-on management role with one direct report. Because we are an early-stage startup, you will be expected to lead and do — bringing rigour and adaptability to a business that is growing and changing quickly.
Be the sharp financial mind in the room: advise on financial operations and bring discipline to how money moves through the business.
Own forecasting, budgets and management accounts so the CFO and C-suite always have timely, accurate information to decide on.
Coordinate compliance, tax and audit so statutory submissions and obligations are met consistently, without surprises.
Quality-control the operational finance function and develop your direct report — payments, reconciliations and approvals that follow the process without exception.
Manage relationships with regulators, banks, auditors and other finance partners as a trusted face of the organisation.
Books are clean and monthly close is on time. Cash flow is actively monitored so projects and operations stay liquid. Robust internal controls safeguard assets. You anticipate the needs of the business and cultivate your team's delivery and development.

Full-time and on-site in Kilifi — amid 70% green space, with community, art and events on the doorstep.
Karibu — we'd love to hear from you.
